| Review summary: Chicks in Socks promises to deliver "the best sock fetish site". They don't do that by a long shot, due to lack of content and serious video quality issues. But in time and with a serious effort from the webmaster, they will at least have a chance. |
Tackling a very specific niche is never easy. Chicks in Socks seems to have pulled it off with style, all the while never losing focus on why you came here - hot babes in socks. The tour looks eye-catching, and it certainly appears they deliver; there are plenty of top shelf, scantily-clad babes —- some wearing nothing BUT their socks.
The members area is cute, sporting a funky — and I mean that in a good way — neon-yellow, green, and orange color scheme. There's really not much of a menu, just two links to photos and video sets. In the middle of the page, there's links to several different models' galleries, including a nice shot of the girl and brief synopsis of the set. Judging from these snaps, they've got quite the stable of hotties here. Sock enthusiast will also be happy with the variety; from ankle-high to thigh-high, plain cotton whites to loud and striped - and everything in between.
Fifteen galleries currently at Girls in Socks, each containing anywhere from 19 to 40 great-quality JPEGs, with a most impressive resolution of 2336x3504 pixels! Admittedly, that's much too massive for most mere mortals' monitors; however, if you've set your browser to not enlarge the photo, it will appear at a smaller size depending on your screen resolution. They should consider also offering a medium sized version of the pictures or just resizing them to smaller images since they are too compressed resulting in compression artifacts.
Another slight issue is that you occasionally stumble upon images that are not rotated to the right direction and it is obvious that the pictures are not all in the right order. Seems like lack of attention to detail from the webmaster.
It seems like they're going for a young, innocent look with the models. For the most part, they've succeeded; these girls, all of which are clearly in their early twenties, still have innocent faces, and manage to pull off that girl-next-door look.
I only wish there were more of them - both girls and sets. The bulk of these babes start out clothed, albeit it scantily, and as the set progresses, they're reduced to nothing but their socks.
One of the more wild sets contains a girl named Amina, who can best be summed up as a classic beauty. A raven haired beauty with killer eyes, and the longest, yummiest looking legs I've seen all week.
Decked out in only a pink tank-top and bunny ears, it's only natural that she'd penetrate herself with an appropriately large carrot. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Heidi's set contained no nudity. Nevertheless, she looked stunning with her dark ebony skin off-set by those hot-pink, nylon socks.
I was, however, more than a little put off by the lack of sets. Fifteen sets is leaning towards the skimpy side; moreover, the lack of timestamps on most of their content is also troublesome, making it very difficult to ascertain how often they update, causing me to wonder whether or not the lack of content can merely be chalked up to being a new site. I must also note that only about a third of the content is exclusive, meaning unique to this site.
Using the 'Want More?' button leads to samples of upcoming updates, which include timestamps. It says they update weekly. So, I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the minimal amount of content boils down to the fact that they're just starting out.
On that note, there's even less vids than pics here: currently a mere 12. Videos can be streamed in their entirety, or in a series of clips. Full videos can also be downloaded in the AVI format with a decent resolution of 784x576. Unfortunately they look extremely poor almost like an enlarged animated gif picture. Some of the worst quality video I have seen lately.
The action in the videos follows very closely to the picture sets; though, it is much more amusing seeing these girlies move around in real-time. Excellent camera work, cute socks, and beautiful pussies would have made these videos well worth a watch if only the quality was better.
Chicks in Socks definitely shows promise. They just need to get control of the quality issues and keep pumping out that content. Then they should have something to please everyone in this sub-genre of the foot fetish.
I'd recommend it to the die-hards, but advise that you think about waiting until the site has a little more time to grow and develop.
