Do your own research

Especially if the review of the site is more than 6 months old, there is a risk that the site could have been changed from a great site, to a junk site. If you can find a list of updates, then check if the site has been updated as promised and check out the previews of the updates if there are any.
It is also a good idea to look for the site’s USC 2257 compliance notice. The 2257 notice contains info on where the authorities can find the legal documents certifying that the models on the site are at least 18 years old. Study payment options

If everything seems to be in order and you decide to join the site, be sure to study the payment options thoroughly before signing up. Many times you find different membership rates depending on the type and duration of the membership you choose. E.g. a recurring membership is often a few bucks cheaper than a non-recurring.

Be sure to find out when you must cancel your membership to avoid another month and how you can do it (ie. the URL of the cancellation form)

You can do this by checking that your address bar has a URL that starts with “https” instead of the usual “http”. You can also check that there is a small locked padlock present in the status bar of your browser if enabled (select 'View' in menu and then 'Status bar').

Keep track of the bills

Be sure to keep track of the amounts billed on your credit card for memberships are as you expected. They will often be billed as something like "Internet media service" etc. If the amounts billed differ from what you expected, then go and read the site's terms about billing again. If you didn't cancel in time or forgot to uncheck a box with "bonus memberships" then unfortunately it is your mistake. Our advice is to just consider the money lost and make sure all memberships for the site get cancelled.
There is also the possibility of a charge back where you claim a refund, but that often leads to the credit card being blacklisted at some credit card processors.
